Attachment and relationships
Our earliest relationships often shape how we experience connection, trust and intimacy throughout life. If we have experienced inconsistency, loss, neglect or difficult relationships, we may find ourselves struggling with closeness, fearing rejection, avoiding vulnerability or repeating patterns that leave us feeling hurt or disconnected. These experiences can affect romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics and our relationship with ourselves.
Therapy offers a compassionate space to explore these patterns and understand where they may have come from. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can begin to develop greater self-awareness, build healthier ways of relating to others and strengthen our sense of security and self-worth. Every therapist will have their own approach, but the aim is to help us create more fulfilling, authentic and connected relationships.
