Lucy Wheen

Hello, I am a Counselling Psychologist and provide specialist support for children, young people, adults, and families who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health, emotional wellbeing, or relationships.

I support people with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, low self-esteem, attachment and relationship difficulties, and the impact of adverse life experiences. I also have a specialist interest in neurodiversity and provide autism assessments and post-diagnostic support that is affirming, collaborative, and tailored to each individual and their family.

I aim to create a safe, respectful space for change to happen. Therapy is always shaped around your goals and needs, compassionate and evidence-based. I use a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment and trauma-informed practice.

I understand it can feel daunting to reach out for support, and find a therapist that is right for you. I therefore offer a free 30 minute appointment to talk through what you are looking for and how I might be able to help. Whether you have a specific approach in mind or are looking for guideance on what might be useful I would welcome you to get in touch.
